With over 15 years of experience protecting our clients’ rights and intellectual property (IP), we have come to learn the kinds of questions and concerns that they have, especially those new to this field.
We speak plain English and take away the mystery of IP protection, and pride ourselves on talking straight. For each application that we file for IP protection, we put in the necessary thought and effort from the start for securing the most effective protection. On the other hand, if we believe that there is little point in going down the path of seeking IP protection, then we will tell you, even if this means that we lose out on a piece of work.

Ascot Martin was founded by its Managing Principal, David Shoolman, a registered Australian patent attorney and trade mark attorney, who is also registered for practice in New Zealand. David previously practiced as an engineer and project manager, and intellectual property lawyer. He brings to the firm not only years of experience in the IP field, but also a practical approach to business and dealing with technical matters.
